FREEHOLD, NJ – Monmouth County Commissioner Director Thomas A. Arnone and County Commissioner Deputy Director Susan M. Kiley have announced that today, Feb. 16, there are 342 new positive cases of COVID-19 in Monmouth County. There are seven new deaths being reported today related to COVID-19 in Monmouth County.
The County Commissioners and the Monmouth County Health Department (MCHD) are strongly urging residents to do their part to slow the spread by practicing social distancing, wearing a face covering when social distancing is not possible, not gathering in large crowds, washing their hands and staying home when sick.

FREEHOLD, NJ – On behalf of the Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners, Commissioner Director Thomas A. Arnone and Commissioner Deputy Director Susan M. Kiley have announced that vaccine appointments scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 17 are being moved to Friday, Feb. 19 due to a delay in vaccine deliveries.
“The County has been notified by the New Jersey Department of Health that vaccines will not be delivered on time due to the inclement weather in the South and Midwest,” said Commissioner Director Arnone. “We apologize for this inconvenience to those with scheduled appointments, but everyone scheduled for Wednesday will receive their vaccine on Friday.”

Donald J. Trump’s second impeachment trial is over; the outcome was no surprise. “The Big Lie,” Trump’s false assertion the 2020 election was rigged, was central to the House Managers’ case, but it wasn’t the only big lie circulating within the Senate chamber. Let’s take a look at a few of the others.
Lie One: The second impeachment of the 45th President, Donald J. Trump, was fair and unbiased. That contention is laughable. Both Democrats and Republicans entered the impeachment proceedings with their verdict already in mind. Despite their very tight case, the House Managers were preaching to the choir, and the President’s defense counsel, without substance, never had a chance of swaying the opposition. This historic trial will be recorded as the most bitter, bipartisan impeachment to date.

Former Long Branch Teacher Arrested for Child Sexual Assault

FREEHOLD – A former Long Branch elementary school teacher has been charged with sexually assaulting a 10 year old student, announced Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni.
Gustavo Barrientos, 53, of Tinton Falls, is charged with first degree Aggravated Sexual Assault and second degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Through the investigation, law enforcement learned that while employed as an elementary school teacher in the Long Branch School District, on multiple occasions, Barrientos would show a 10 year old female student pornography and sexually assault her.
