Monmouth County has 204 additional positive cases of COVID-19

FREEHOLD, NJ – Monmouth County Commissioner Director Thomas A. Arnone and County Commissioner Deputy Director Susan M. Kiley have announced that today, April 4, there are 204 new positive cases of COVID-19 in Monmouth County. There are zero new deaths being reported today related to COVID-19 in Monmouth County.
The County Commissioners and the Monmouth County Health Department (MCHD) are strongly urging residents to do their part to slow the spread by practicing social distancing, wearing a face covering when social distancing is not possible, not gathering in large crowds, washing their hands and staying home when sick.

The Gospel of Mark introduces the story of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ with these words: “When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome brought spices so that they might go and anoint Jesus’s body. Very early on the first day of the week after sunrise, they were on the way to the tomb and they asked each other, “Who will roll the stone away from the entrance to the tomb?’” Perhaps in their sorrow they forgot that, after the stone was placed on the tomb, it was also sealed with the Roman seal and soldiers were placed to guard it so that the body of Christ will not be stolen.

FREEHOLD, NJ – Monmouth County Commissioner Director Thomas A. Arnone and County Commissioner Deputy Director Susan M. Kiley have announced that today, April 3, there are 305 new positive cases of COVID-19 in Monmouth County. There are five new deaths being reported today related to COVID-19 in Monmouth County.

Middletown Police and Fire Departments Respond to Fatal Structure Fire

Middletown, NJ – On Friday April 2, 2021 at approximately 7:54pm, Middletown Twp. Police responded to 9 Dakota Ave in the North Middletown section of the township. Upon arrival, officers were able to confirm that there was an active structure fire. Units from the Middletown Twp. Fire Department responded to the scene to battle the fire.
The body of the deceased resident, John Dowd, 71, was located inside the structure by fire personnel.
Howell Woman Charged with Matawan Hit and Run

FREEHOLD – A Howell woman has been charged with hit and run after she struck and critically injured a 77-year-old borough resident on Freneau Avenue in Matawan in early March. The woman was found along the roadside when Matawan police arrived on the scene, announced Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni.
Jennifer B. Aretino, 36, of Citation Street in Howell, is charged with third degree leaving the scene of a motor vehicle collision with serious bodily injury and numerous motor vehicle violations. She was charged this morning and released on a summons pending a future court date. That court date has not been scheduled.
