Interfaith panel: Seeing Human

This Sunday, March 1, 2020, The Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) of Jewish Federation in the Heart of NJ together with St. George’s By the River and Hackensack Meridian Health will host an interfaith panel, “Seeing Human.”

The event will take place 3pm-5pm at St. George’s By the River Episcopal Church, Rumson.

Rumson Councilman Gary Casazza will be in attendance as well as the following panel members:

  • Rabbi Marc Kline, Rabbi, Monmouth Reform Temple, Federation Chair of Interfaith Initiatives 
  • The Reverend Jeffrey Roy, St. George’s-by-the-River Episcopal Church 
  • Dr. Mohammad Ali Chaudry, President Islamic Society of Basking Ridge 
  • The Rev. Dr. Anne-Marie Jeffery, Rector St. Peter’s Episcopal Church Perth Amboy  
  • Wayne Boatwright, Vice President, Diversity and Inclusion, Hackensack Meridian Health Hospitals 
  • Rev. Dr. Semaj Y. Vanzant, Sr., Second Baptist Church of Asbury Park

The panel will explore what the three Abrahamic faiths (Judaism, Christianity, and Islam) – and their holy texts, the Old Testament, New Testament, and Qur'an – teach about combating hate and what today's society can glean from them about strengthening interfaith collaboration, friendship, and understanding.
